International Santa Claus Collection United States Santa — 1992 Hand-Painted Resin Figurine (IRS SC06)

1992

Collectible Christmas Figurine

This little Santa belongs to The International Santa Claus Collection, a series introduced in 1992 by International Resourcing Services, Inc. Each figure in the line portrayed the gift-bringer of a different country, and this one — catalog number SC06 — is the "United States" Santa: the familiar red-suited Father Christmas, pausing at a snow-topped chimney with a long pipe at his lips and an armful of toys. He is cast in hand-painted resin, and the maker's round gold foil label is still intact on the base.

He came to us from an estate in Louisburg, North Carolina, alongside a small gathering of other Christmas pieces we're bringing out together for the season. He has the warmth of a figure that was set out each December — a quiet, well-kept keepsake from the early 1990s, ready to take his place on a mantel or shelf again.

Materials Hand-painted cast resin, finished with fine detail on a snow-topped, chimney-side base.
Care Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. Keep out of direct sunlight and away from heat to protect the hand-painted finish. Handle the fine details with care.

Some Christmas pieces are less about grandeur and more about the small, familiar shape you reach for every December. This little Santa is one of those. He belongs to The International Santa Claus Collection, a series introduced in 1992 by International Resourcing Services, Inc., in which each figure portrayed the gift-bringer of a different country. This one is the "United States" Santa — catalog number SC06 — and he's exactly the fellow most of us picture: a deep-red suit trimmed in soft white fur, a black belt, tall cream boots, and a full snowy beard beneath rosy cheeks. He pauses beside a brick chimney capped with snow, a long-stemmed pipe raised to his lips, a woven pack of wrapped presents on his back and an armful of toys — a little white horse, a doll, ribboned boxes — cradled against his coat. A sprig of holly tucks into his cap. He's cast in hand-painted resin, and the detail rewards a close look: the wood-grain folds of the coat, the neat brickwork of the chimney, the tiny painted faces of the toys. The maker's round gold foil label is still intact on the base, reading "Santa Claus — United States — © 1992 — International Resourcing Services Inc." He came to us from an estate in Louisburg, North Carolina, part of a small gathering of Christmas pieces we're bringing out together for the season.
