About Us
How This Started
We were helping with an estate, and were surprised to realize just how much had been quietly collected over the years. Not rooms of treasures on display — but boxes and bins with carefully wrapped, meticulously protected items, tucked away as though tomorrow would be the day to bring them all out for the world to enjoy and appreciate. But the cut glass never cast rainbows in the sunlight, and the jewelry was a testament to younger days, no longer catching an admiring eye.
She had exquisite taste and a solid instinct for quality — but then kept it all waiting. That waiting is a big part of why this shop exists. These things have been patient long enough.
We couldn't let them disappear into a dumpster or get lost in some anonymous auction lot. So we started photographing, researching, learning the history of pieces we'd never encountered before. That became the genesis of The Vintage Rose Boutique — and we're still at it. Every piece here is something we've handled ourselves, thought about, and decided deserved to be loved the way it was meant to be loved, as are we all.
How We Work
We describe everything honestly, including any flaws. A hairline crack, a repaired clasp, a bit of rubbing to the gilt — you'll know about it before you buy. That's not us being cautious; it's because we know that the people who love vintage things don't need to be shielded from their reality. Often those details are part of what makes the piece interesting.
These pieces have already survived many years in the care of others. We're their stewards now, so we pack them thoughtfully to ensure they arrive safely and intact at their next home.
Who We Are
The Vintage Rose Boutique is a small shop run by the two of us, Dave & Lysa, from Youngsville, North Carolina. We're registered in North Carolina as The Vintage Rose Boutique LLC.
We buy from estates, downsizings, and private collections around North Carolina and Virginia, then research, photograph, and write up every piece ourselves before it reaches the shop. Nearly everything here is secondhand and one of a kind. The exception is our Vintage-Inspired collection, which is new and always labeled that way.
There's no storefront to visit — the boutique is online only, and every order is packed and shipped by the two of us. If you want to ask about a piece before you buy it, we'd genuinely like to hear from you. Our shipping and return policies are written out in full, in plain language, before you ever reach a checkout page.
