Enamel Costume Jewelry, Sculptural Love Knot
Small but certain — that's how we'd describe these. Red enamel over gold tone, shaped into the classic love knot, about three-quarters of an inch across. They're unsigned, which isn't unusual for 1980s sculptural studs at this scale, but the enamel work is clean and even, and the knot itself has real dimension to it. Someone cared about getting the form right.
We picked these up from a North Carolina estate, a wide-ranging collection out of Hobbesville that belonged to a lifelong jewelry enthusiast — the kind of woman who'd spent her working years around the real thing and brought that same standard home with her. Her collection ran from fine to costume, from Victorian to modern, and what tied it all together was a consistent eye for quality. These little knots fit right in. Condition is excellent. The enamel is intact, the gold tone is bright, and the posts are straight and secure. Sometimes the quietest pieces in a collection tell you the most about the collector.

That Perfect Pop of Red
There's something about a great pair of red earrings that just works. These vintage love knot studs have the kind of easy confidence that makes them reach-for-every-morning favorites — bold enough to notice, small enough to wear with anything. The design is a classic love knot: two interlocking loops of gold-tone metal, each coated in rich, glossy red enamel that still looks as vivid as the day they were made. The form is dimensional and sculptural, with the loops twisting over and under each other to create depth, shadow, and a satisfying sense of movement. Depending on the angle, the gold-tone edges catch the light differently, giving them a warmth that flat earrings simply can't match.A Signature 1980s Style
Love knot jewelry was everywhere in the 1980s — a decade that embraced bold accessories with open arms. Gold-tone knots, often embellished with enamel in jewel tones, were a wardrobe staple from the boardroom to the evening out. Red was among the most popular choices, and it's easy to see why: it pairs beautifully with gold, reads as both classic and confident, and transitions effortlessly from casual to dressy. These earrings are a lovely example of the style — well-made, nicely weighted, and with an enamel finish that has held up remarkably well over the decades. They're the kind of vintage find that feels just as relevant today as it did forty years ago.Details
