Vintage 1980s EDCO Sterling Silver Princess-Cut CZ Solitaire Ring — Filigree Shoulders, Size 9.75

1980s

Vintage Sterling Silver Solitaire

This solitaire carries the unmistakable confidence of 1980s costume jewelry — a large, square princess-cut cubic zirconia squared off and bright in a four-prong head, double claws gripping each corner, with small round CZ accents tracing the shoulders. The real vintage character lives along the sides of the shank, where pierced filigree scrollwork opens into a galleried detail rarely found on modern rings.

The band is marked EDCO inside. EDCO worked in sterling silver but did not stamp the usual .925 hallmark, so the metal reads as sterling on the strength of the maker's name rather than a number. This is vintage everyday sparkle with genuine presence — clear, faceted cubic zirconia doing exactly what it was made to do, set in a substantial filigree band that has held up beautifully through the decades.

Materials Sterling silver band (marked EDCO, no .925 stamp); large princess-cut cubic zirconia center in a four-prong head; round CZ shoulder accents; pierced filigree scrollwork shank.
Care Store dry, away from moisture. Polish gently with a soft silver cloth. Avoid household chemicals, perfume, and ultrasonic cleaners, which can loosen prong-set stones over time.

The 1980s knew how to make a statement, and this ring didn't get the memo about subtlety. A large princess-cut cubic zirconia sits front and center, squared off and bright, held in a four-prong head with double claws gripping each corner. Down the shoulders, a row of small round CZ accents catches the light on its way to the main event. Look at the sides of the band, though — that's where the real vintage character lives. Pierced filigree scrollwork runs along the shank, an open galleried detail you don't see on modern rings, where most of the work goes into the stone and the band gets ignored. Someone cared about the parts you only notice when you're paying attention. It's marked EDCO inside the band — a maker who worked in sterling silver without stamping the usual .925 hallmark, so the metal reads as sterling on the strength of that name rather than a number.
  • Maker & era: Marked EDCO inside the band, 1980s
  • Metal: Sterling silver (marked EDCO, no .925 stamp — sterling per EDCO's maker convention)
  • Center stone: Large princess-cut (square) cubic zirconia in a four-prong head with double corner claws
  • Accents: Small round CZ set along the shoulders
  • Vintage detail: Pierced filigree scrollwork along the sides of the shank
  • Ring size: 9.75
  • Condition: Excellent — bright metal, all stones present and secure, no chips or visible wear
It's held up beautifully. The metal is bright, every stone sits tight in its setting, and there are no chips or wear worth mentioning. A vintage solitaire with real presence — clear, faceted CZ doing exactly what it was made to do, which is sparkle.
