Vintage JASCO "Christmas Spirit" Caroler Candle — Hand-Painted Figural, c. 1970s–80s
Circa 1970s–1980s
Figural Holiday Candle
A hand-painted figural caroler candle from JASCO's "Christmas Spirit" line — a little carol-singer in a red cloak and green skirt, a cream bonnet and yellow hair, her songbook open in her hands. The original gold foil JASCO label survives on the base, marked "Christmas Spirit / Hand Painted Candles" and "Handcrafted in China." Figural candles like this were made to be displayed rather than burned.
She came to us from an estate in Louisburg, North Carolina. She carries her years honestly — a little gentle age-wear to the paint and label — but she's complete and cheerful, a charming vintage carol-singer for a mantel, a shelf, or a holiday vignette.
