A full-lead crystal angel, harp drawn up against her chest, standing about eight inches on a square crystal base. The crystal is clear — not frosted — so she does what clear German crystal is made to do: she catches the light and gives it back. Set her near a window or a candle and watch. This is the Mikasa Herald Collection, the model named "Angelic Harp," and she still wears her original Mikasa foil label.
  • Mikasa Herald Collection, model "Angelic Harp" — confirmed by the original foil label, still intact
  • Full-lead crystal, brilliantly clear — throws light beautifully in a window or by candlelight
  • Harp-playing angel with detailed wings and a flowing robe; graceful and serene
  • About 8 inches tall on a square crystal base — solid, with real weight in the hand
  • Made in Germany

Mikasa Herald Collection "Angelic Harp" — Clear German Lead Crystal Angel Figurine, ~8"

Late 20th Century

Lead Crystal Angel Figurine

This crystal angel comes to us from a North Carolina estate in Hobbsville, from a home that clearly kept the things that caught the light — the pieces set where the afternoon sun could find them, the treasures brought out each holiday season and placed just so, where they would glow. She was one of those, looked at and loved for years.

She is a Mikasa Herald Collection figurine, the model named "Angelic Harp," and the line and model can be stated plainly because she still carries her original Mikasa foil label. Cut from clear full-lead crystal and made in Germany, she stands about eight inches on a square base, harp drawn against her chest, with detailed wings and a flowing robe. Clear lead crystal is made to play with light — a candle flame or a bit of window sun scatters back across the room — and that is exactly what she does.

Materials Full-lead crystal, brilliantly clear (not frosted); harp-playing angel on an integral square crystal base. Made in Germany. Retains its original Mikasa foil label.
Care Dust with a soft, dry or barely damp cloth. Hand-wash gently in lukewarm water if needed; avoid the dishwasher and sudden temperature changes. Keep the original foil label dry. Display away from edges.

This one comes from a North Carolina estate in Hobbsville, from someone who clearly kept the things that caught the light. You know the kind of house — the pieces that lived where the afternoon sun could find them, the treasures that came out each holiday season and got set just so, where they'd glow. This angel was one of those. She's been a holiday staple for many years. She's a Mikasa Herald Collection figurine, the model named "Angelic Harp," and we can say that plainly because she still carries her original Mikasa foil label — the small collector's detail that settles the question before you have to ask it. Full-lead crystal, clear rather than frosted, cut so the harp she holds against her chest, her wings, and the fall of her robe all read crisply. At about eight inches and standing on a square crystal base, she has the heft you want from good German crystal. Pick her up and you feel it. What she really does, though, is play with light. Clear lead crystal is greedy that way — it takes a candle flame or a bit of window sun and scatters it back across the room. Quiet, luminous, and right at home through the holidays and well past them.
