Coro Pink Enamel Rose Cluster Clip Earrings — 1950s
Circa 1950s
American Costume Jewelry, Mid-Century Floral
These came out of a Hobbesville, North Carolina estate that was, frankly, a joy to go through. The collector had spent her career surrounded by fine jewelry and carried that sensibility into everything she brought home.
Coro made these rose cluster earrings in the 1950s, and they've got that mid-century warmth that's hard to replicate. Three-dimensional stacked petals in pink ombré enamel, each rose centered with a small faux pearl. They're about an inch across — substantial enough to notice, restrained enough to wear every day. Clip-on backs, signed Coro.
Condition is good. There's minor enamel wear at the petal centers where the pink has softened slightly — consistent with a piece that was loved and actually worn, not just tucked in a drawer. We think it adds character, but we want you to know it's there.

A Little Bloom of Mid-Century Romance
Coro needs no introduction to vintage jewelry lovers. From the 1930s through the 1960s, this American costume jewelry powerhouse produced some of the most recognizable and collectible designs in the business — and their 1950s floral pieces are among the most sought-after. These rose cluster clip earrings are Coro at its most exuberant: three-dimensional stacked-petal roses rendered in baked enamel over base metal, each bloom a little sculpture of mid-century femininity. The color is what catches your eye first — a two-tone pink ombré that moves from vivid hot pink at the outer petals to a delicate blush at the center, where a faux pearl cabochon nestles like morning dew. It's a palette that feels as fresh now as it did in a 1950s powder room. The baked enamel technique — thermoplastic lacquer applied in layers over base metal — was a hallmark of the era, giving costume pieces a richness and depth that photographs can only hint at.Details
